Mother with a Little Glitter

I created 2 different cards using the same color scheme and image. I just changed it up a little bit. I created the flower image by coloring the rubber stamp with watercolor crayons, misting the rubber with water, and then stamping the image. Once the stamped image dried I added the sentiment and glitter. I think I like Happy Mother's Day card better than the window card, and will be mass producing this card for the Monthly card exchange.

The Close-up

Let me know what you think. I love reading your comments and greatly appreciate them all.

Supplies:
Paper: River Rock cardstock (SU! - Retired), Cream cardstock (Neenah)
Ink: Basic Black (SU!)
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes and Happy Mother's Day sentiment (SU!), Mother sentiment (PTI)
Extras: Watercolor Crayons (SU!), Taffeta Ribbon (SU!), Dazzling Diamond Glitter (SU!), Die (Spellbinders), Corner Rounder (SU!)
Notes: I used Green Galore, Always Artichoke, Tempting Turquoise and Elegant Eggplant watercolor crayons. I mixed bold brights and rich regals in order to subdue the bold color and still have an image that stands out against the white paper.

With Sympathy - Pet

The girls came over this weekend for a little crafting at my place. There may have been a paper explosion in the dining room, but as always a ton of fun. I have a few more postings from the meeting of the crafty minds so keep checking back, and pop on over to their blogs (Janie's blog and DZines by MEG) under My Favorite Creative Sites to see their work. The common theme for me had to be Papertrey. All I have to say is I HEART Papertrey! Apparently, since this is the second blog in a row that I say how much I love their stuff. I used their Pet Sympathy sentiments stamp set to create these two cards. The one above uses their fabulous satin ribbon (I need them all). I borrowed the satin Spring Moss ribbon from Marisa. I revamped that card using ribbon that I owned to create Sympathy cards for my monthly themed card swap (the card below). I used the damask stamp to create a background, and the paw print to add a background to the sentiment. The damask background, the script font, and the black pearls resulted in an elegant, thoughtful card.

Supplies:
Paper: Basic Grey, Whipser White, Cool Caribbean Cardstock (SU!); Spring Moss Cardstock (PTI)

Ink: Basic Grey (SU!); StazOn Black; Spring Moss Palette Hybrid Ink (PTI); Aqua Versamagic Ink
Stamps: Damask Stamp (Studio g - $1 Michael's stamp); With Sympathy Loss of a Pet (PTI)
Extras: Corner Rounder (SU!); Black Pearls (Mark Richards); Spring Moss Ribbon (PTI); Blue Ribbon (Target Club Wedd)

Card Swap

I participate in a monthly card swap with co-workers. This month's swap was a color challenge. The colors we had to use were So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Elegant Eggplant, and Almost Amethyst.

This color combo was generated at http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/. This is a great sight to peruse unique color combos, especially when you are drawing a blank.

The base color of this card is So Saffron. I used Elegant Eggplant to stamp the Thanks a Bunch, colored thanks in with Almost Amethyst, and then added a little Certainly Celery colored bling. Hope you like it. It is simple, but I must say this color combo was especially challenging for me. I usually gravitate towards blues and greens. I can't wait to see everyone else's combinations!

Supplies
Stampin' Up! So Saffron, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White cardstock; So Saffron Designer Series Paper; Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink; Almost Amethyst marker; 1 3/4 inch circle punch and corner rounder

Target Club Wedd White Satin Ribbon, Fiskars 2 inch circle punch, and Light Green bling (can't remember the manufacturer), versamark ink and Autumn Leaves Flourish Stamp
