Paper Challenge #3 - Part 2

I found a way to use the left over strip of patterned paper; I made these 3 x 3 cards. I inked all of the edges of the paper, including the flowers and leaves. It seemed necessary to blend well with the vintage feel of the patterned paper. I added some lace ribbon to complete the look. Here is one of the cards Randee completed using paper from Susi. I can't to see what everyone else came up with.

Oh, yeah I forgot to mention that the patterned paper I used was from Randee's stash.

Supplies:
Ink:
Colorbox chalk ink

Stamps: none
Paper: SU! Really Rust, More Mustard, Natural Ivory and Cosmo Cricket Patterned Paper
Extras: Papertrey buttons, Lace Ribbon (found at Hobby Lobby), Sizzix die exclusive for SU!

Paper Challenge #3 - Part 1

I have started my cards for our latest paper challenge. This time I received two-sided paper Cosmo Cricket paper (I included swatches of both sides above). I decided to make a little envelope with a sizzix die. I tied the bow around the envelope and added a prima flower. I have a 2 x 12 inch strip left. I need to create 5 of something with that strip....see keep a look out for part Deux.

By the way, I forgot to mention the neatest thing. I made the background using my new PTI retro background set. Love, love, love it. I will have to play more with this set this weekend. The girls are coming over for a scrapping weekend. Plus I want to play with some of their ribbon and paper that I ordered.

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink, Stampin' Up! (sentiment and dots at the bottom)
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink
Paper: Really Rust, Very Vanilla, Kraft, Chocolate Chip CS SU! and Cosmo Cricket PP
Extras: Scalloped punch (Fiskars), Petal Fold Sizzix die, Ribbon (Target Club Wedd), Flower (Prima), Pearl (Mark Richards)

Welcome Little One.....

Their is a new addition to the family! What you say, who had a baby? My boyfriend's parents got a new doggie, Molly, from a shelter. To welcome her to her new home we got her some fancy treats and a fun, squeeky hippo. Even dogs like handmade gift bags. So I took a plain white gift bag from Nashville Wraps and Retired SU! Hawaiian Papaya Pattered Paper and made this fun bag with a scalloped edge (girly, since it is a girl dog). I walked on the wild side and mixed the dog theme with flowers. What can I say, I am a real wild one!

The tag base is from Maya Road; it is one of their frosted acrylic key chains. There were about 6 of them per pack that I picked up from my fav indy-scrap shop Craft Fancy. This place is wonderful, the girls are absolutely fabulous and super helpful, plus I feel like I contribute to a small business by buying their stuff. They have a nice selection of amuse stamps, copic markers, maya road, american crafts.....ok I am done with my tangent. Hope you like the first 3-D creation posted to my blog.

Supplies:
Stamps: Dog and paws from Inkadoo clear stamps
Paper: Hawaiian Papaya SU! PP (retired)
Ink: VersaMagic Java Chip
Extras: Bag from Nashville Wraps, SU! Scallop Edge punch, Creative Memories Oval cutter, Maya Road oval scallop frosted tag, SU! polytwill ribbon (retired), American Crafts Thickers

KWerner Color Challenge #42

I realized today it had been a while since I posted something create, or even made something crafty. So, I vowed to take on the Kristina Werner challenge and get my butt in my craft room. This was a toughy!!! I looked at the More Mustard, Really Rust, and Kiwi Kiss and thought "what the heck am I gonna do with this...these colors are so over-powering together". I took a little inspiration from Randee (see her entry here) and used textured white as my base to help the colors mesh.

Here is Kristina's Inspiration:

I made a fun little easter card using a new Michael's $1 stamp, a SU! rub-on, and some wide, ruffled ribbon that I purchased a year ago when an indi-scrap store was closing : ( I decided to tone down the mustard by watercoloring.

Supplies:
Stamps: Studio g

Paper: SU! Kiwi Kiss, Really Rust and Whisper White cardstock
Ink: Black StazOn and More Mustard, Basic Gray, and Really Rust SU! Classic
Extras: Cuttlebug embossing folder, Marvvy Uchida Scallop Punch, Fishers 2" circle punch, Creative Memories circle cutter, Bag O' Buttons, SU! Rub-on (happy easter), White ruffly ribbon (unknown, but I got a good deal on it!)

It is time for another Kristina Werner color challenge. Here is the inspiration for this card

I decided to make my last v-day card for the season using houndstooth transperancy from Teresa Collin's Crush line and a heart punch. It really isn't a v-day card with out a heart image, right? I just love these challenges. They are definitely a creative jump start.

Supplies

Paper: Riding Hood Red cardstock and patterned paper and Basic Gray cardstock from SU! and White from Archivers, Teresa Collins transparency

Stamps: SU! Baroque Background

Ink: Versamark

Extras: large heart punch and scallop punch from SU!, Autumn Leaves buttons, Target white satin ribbon

A Little Something - One Giant Card

For this 6 x 6 inch card I CASEd the template from the 30th B-day card my friend Janie made. Click HERE to visit her blog. I used Sizzix dies exclusive for Stampin' Up! and a Sale-a-bration set. All supplies used to make this card are from SU!. I also stole the idea to outline the large die in glitter (thank you for the fab idea, Janie).

My Little Cupcake

I decided to play with my SU! Sizzix dies and create a few cards using only current Stampin' Up! product, which although I am a demo is quite challenging. I finished this card and was so exited....then I realized Hawaiian Papaya is no longer in the catalog. So I created a fun little card using some all SU!, but not necessarily current product. Anywho....I still like how the card turned out.

Supplies (All SU!)
Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Kraft, Whisper White, and So Saffron
Classic Ink: Chocolate Chip
Patterned Paper: Hawaiian Papaya DSP (retired)
Stamp Set: Sweet Little Sentiments (Hostess Set)
Accessories: Chocolate Chip wide grossgrain ribbon, styled silver hodgepodge hardware (silver ribbon slide), and Big Bold Cupcakes Sizzlits dies, dazzling diamonds glitter, and corner rounder

Vinyl Hi!

Go Figure, I used Kraft....what can I say, this is one of the main colors I like to use for my cards. This card is 3 x 6.25 inches, which is my other favorite card size. After I stamped the label in Kiwi Kiss, I punched the image out with the curvy label punch. I traced the outside of the label on the Kraft cardstock and used the paper piercing tool to create a frame around the sentiment. The sentiment was added with dimensionals. The bottom of the card was scalloped, and a strip of Kiwi Kiss cardstock was added to the inside of the card to make the scallops stand out. After that I decided to adhere Chocolate Chip poly twill ribbon and draw two white lines above that.
Supplies
Stamps: Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Kraft, Kiwi Kiss, and Whisper White
Extras: Stampin' Up! Curvy Label punch, Fiskars scallop punch, SU! poly twill ribbon, American Crafts Vinyl Thickers, and Joann's metal brad thingies

Tweet Hello

I sat down and had a crafty night. I finished assembling the color challenge cards for our swap (see last Thursday's post). I wasn't quite satisfied with how the card turned out, so I added a little flourish to the So Saffron cardstock. I updated the post with the new picture. Now I like how it turned out!

I also finished a little hello card using Woodgrain patterned paper from October Afternoon that I have been hoarding. The bird/leave image and aqua-ish colored paper are from We R Memory Keepers White Out Collection. I punched out flowers from the same collect, and then I finished off the cards with a rub-on phrase and a little baubley-bling. The card is 4.25 x 4.25 inches (one of my new favorite sizes). Enjoy!!

Supplies
Patterned Paper: October Afternoon, We R Memory Keepers
Rub-on: Cheery Chat from Stampin' Up!
Extras: EK Success flower punch, and bling

I love this color combo and decided to pull out some oldies, mostly from Stampin' Up! Everything, except the Copics, are things have had for quite some time and there are a few retired SU! items. Hope you like my creation! These challenges are so addicting; I can't wait for the next one.

White embroidery thread (for the button), Neenah white paper, Momento black ink and copic markers.

Card Swap

I participate in a monthly card swap with co-workers. This month's swap was a color challenge. The colors we had to use were So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Elegant Eggplant, and Almost Amethyst.

This color combo was generated at http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/. This is a great sight to peruse unique color combos, especially when you are drawing a blank.

The base color of this card is So Saffron. I used Elegant Eggplant to stamp the Thanks a Bunch, colored thanks in with Almost Amethyst, and then added a little Certainly Celery colored bling. Hope you like it. It is simple, but I must say this color combo was especially challenging for me. I usually gravitate towards blues and greens. I can't wait to see everyone else's combinations!

Supplies
Stampin' Up! So Saffron, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White cardstock; So Saffron Designer Series Paper; Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink; Almost Amethyst marker; 1 3/4 inch circle punch and corner rounder

Target Club Wedd White Satin Ribbon, Fiskars 2 inch circle punch, and Light Green bling (can't remember the manufacturer), versamark ink and Autumn Leaves Flourish Stamp

SImply Saffron

I know, it has been almost a week since my last post. I have been busy trying to staighten my craft room. I just couldn't take it anymore and had to create something. I was making a card for our color challenge swap (see tomorrow's post) and I didn't like how the So Saffron background turned out. Since I already had the patterned paper glued down, I decided to use the base to make this simple card.

Supplies:
Stampin' Up! So Saffron cardstock, So Saffron Designer Series Paper, Chocolate Wide Grossgrain Ribbon, and Rub-ons. I also used a retired SU! large corner rounder.

Heidi Swapp Butterfly and Crystal Effects (to glue the butterfly)
