A Little Halloweeny!

I got a little fun time in on Friday with my friend, Katieand made a few Halloween card. Halloween is one of my favorite seasons! I love the spooky yet cute feel to these card. I got the spooky by distressing all of the edges and stamping directly on the patterned paper. Cute was the easy part, since it is all due to these adorable stamps with a fun pun.

I also tossed in a sneak peak of my spook-tacular card for the next sketch girl challenge scheduled for the 30th. Don't forget to submit your entry for SG5, there are 5 sentiment singles from Creative Clear Stamps up for grabs! Have a great weekend.

Paper:

Stamps: Background (Studio G); Main image (SU!)

A Cup of Happy

I have been so busy lately. Getting caught up at working, getting sick, and having a B-day. On Friday I saw 500 Days of Summer, a must see! Then on the weekend I went with Janie and Marisa to a White Sox game. Go, go White Sox! You have to see this video below (Marisa is a turncoat...and she calls herself a Royals Fan). Just kindin', love ya! This video makes me giggle everytime I watch it. Janie is the camera operator/interviewer, Marisa is being interviewed, and I am in the background giggling (every now and again you can see the side of my face in the camera). Such a busy month, but fun! Thought I would let you know where I was.

I just finished halfway putting together a Halloween card. I am almost done, but I needed to step away. I will post that later. Here is a card I made for my friend, Joan, on her b-day. I used some goodies from Crate Paper and my new Unity stamp set. It is so versatile and I can't wait to use the pie! I stamped the cup on kraft and then colored it in with copics to create an earth tone feel.

Happy Monday....okay as happy as the beginning of a work week can be.

Supplies:
Paper:
Kraft cardstock (SU!); patterned paper (Crate Paper)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento)
Stamps: Hodgepodge of Happiness (Unity)
Extras: Markers (Copics); cardstock dies (Crate Paper)

Sketch Girls Challenge #5

It is that time again...for another Sketch Girl challenge. For this challenge I created this fun Bot card. You know how I love puns, so I had to use another one. I picked up 3 robots with sentiments at the Scrapbook Expo in St. Charles this past August. I giggled when I bought them, and the sentiments still make me laugh. The sentiment is normally straight, but I curved it when I placed it on the block to curve around the edge of the circle. I mounted the Bot on Tangerine cardstock that was cut in a circle and then cut out notches to make a gear. The other gear is chipboard that I painted orange.

Stop by the Sketch Girl blog to play along and hop on over to the other girl's blogs to check out their work using the links in the far left column or at the Sketch Girl Blog. Happy hopping!

Supplies:
Paper:
Sahara Sand, Tangerine Tango (SU!); Solar White (Neenah); Patterned Paper (Sassafras))
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Momento); Basic Black Marker (SU!)
Stamps: Robot stamp and Setiment (Storage Units, Ink & More)
Extras: Copics; Ribbon (Basic Grey); Buttons (Making Memories); Chipboard (Maya Road); Pearls (Mark Richards)

Happy Harvest

I had a Halloween/Thanksgiving card exchange this month with the gals at work. I found this super cute pumpkin in the dollar bin at Michael's last month and just had to ink this sucker up. I really fought the urge to make a Halloween card...I {heart} Halloween. I had to tell myself I know I will make a few different Halloween cards, the spookier the better, and will most likely not send out Thanksgiving cards. Anywho. That what was going through my brain when I made this card.

I colored the pumpkin with Copics on the kraft paper. I love how this looks. The colors remain vibrant and has a unique opaque look once the colored image is dry. Warning: Copics when colored on kraft cardstock dry much brighter than they appear when you first color. To determine the colors I wanted to use I put a few test marks on a piece of scrap kraft cardstock, let it dry, and then colored the pumpkins. I inked the edges with white ink and then mounted the image on bits of patterned paper. I just had to bust open paper that Cath sent me for being one of the winners of the Rainy Day challenge at Moxie Fab. Okay, enough rambling. Hope you had a great Monday!

Pop on Over

Cath is having a challenge over on the Moxie Fab blog. The challenge is to create a card using household items. I have so many ideas swirling around in my brain and came up with this won first. When I first bought the chipboard I need I wanted to turn the toast and toaster into a card with a pun. Since it didn't look right on the outside I added to the inside. It makes me giggly and is so punny!

Strawberry Fields

Happy Labor Day! Hope everyone is enjoying their day off and/or an extra day with loved ones! I landed at O'Hare this morning and had a great time. I will have to share some photos!

I created this 2 page 12 x 12" spread with Janie and Marisa a couple weeks ago using my Studio Calico Over the Rainbow Kit. I thought I would post a little group labor ha! The family picking strawberries on Fathers day in 2005. I made the background using random strips of the cardstock, mounted the photos, and added a little Sassafras extras. I still have to add a little journaling. Maybe a little hidden something with a list of who, what, where, when, and why.

Supplies (all supplies are from Studio Calico main Over the Rainbow kit except items listed below):
Paper:
White textured and Tangerine Tango Cardstock (SU!)
Stamps: None
Ink: None
Extras: Border Punch (Fiskars); Strawberry Bling (SU!); Yellow foam Thickers (AC); Paper Flowers and Fabric Brads (Sassafras)

Happy B-Day Janie!

Last week week (Aug 27) was Janie's b-day and this is the card I sent her. It was very fitting, since it was made with paper she gave Marisa and I as a challenge. We needed to make at least one card with it. I added bling, buttons and flowers that Dani at DannisDoodles sent me as a random RAK. They matched so perfectly and they were just sitting on my desk, and they were actually visible. For those of you who recently saw my scraproom (Janie and Marisa) know this is a miracle. Have a great day!

Supplies:
Paper:
Cream cardstock (Neenah); Patterned Paper (From Janie)
Ink: None
Stamps: None
Extras: Flowers and Buttons (From Danni); Bling (Kaiser); Old Olive Ribbon (SU!)

Make a Splash

Two weekends ago I got together with Janie and Marisa and I got a little scrapbooking done. I finished this page using some sassafras goodies and my Studio Calico Over the Rainbow kit. Once I got a subdued background together and had all my fussy cutting done the page and pageling came together nice and easy. This two page spread is a 12 x 12" and a 6 x 12". I love getting a little scrapbooking done and have a few more posts this week.
